1998 Volkswagen Golf GTI VR6 Hatchback 2-Door
FS: 1998 Volkswagen GTi VR6 DE leftover with 22k original miles and in near showroom condition!!! 95% all OEM.
Car is located in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista (South Bay San Diego 91913 zip)
This is one of the lowest original miles near all OEM MKIII VR’s out there. Car is in impeccable shape. It needs nothing, just a new owner.
95% all OEM. The only non OEM items are as follows: Vogtland coil-overs, Enki RFP1 wheels with center caps (set of 5), Eurosport rear chassis brace (u bolted on, no cutting or welding), OE Hella all red tail lights, OE Hella dark smoke side marker lights and a proper Magnaflow cat back exhaust (sounds incredible). Everything else is OEM.
Everything on the car works without exception. Everything! Ice cold AC, sunroof opens, closes and tilts perfectly, all electronics works, the on board computer works, even the CC.
Zero leaks of any sort anywhere. The drivetrain is solid. No hiccups, hesitations, funny sounds, smells or anything. No warning lights on the dash. Starts up first try every time, without fail.
The interior is perfect, and unmarked. It is the DE black leather with the red stitching on the steering wheel, shift boot and e-brake handle. Also has the white-faced gauges and golf ball shift knob. No wear makes, burn makes, cuts in the leather or any other damage anywhere.
The paint is great and looks wet. The car has been garaged since day one and it shows. The paint has been clayed, waxed and ceramic coated within the last few months.
A few pretty rare OEM items are included. Those items are OEM Euro headlight switch (you can run the running lights by themselves), OEM Banjo alarm remote fobs; both programmed to the car and in perfect shape and an OEM 6 disc CD changer. The changer is hooked up to the OEM stereo, and yes both work flawlessly.
Full set of OEM keys. Even the lighted key still lights up. However, it’s faint.
I have paperwork dating back to day one including the window sticker, owner’s manual and more.
All maintenance item are up to date – oil/oil filter, drain plug, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, coolant, tranny fluid, power steering fluid, brake fluid etc. All items used were OEM VW or German made equivalent. No sub par items used for this car.
When the Vogtlands were installed, new strut bearing/bushing, bump stops, mounts etc. were installed too. The suspension is solid with now squeaking or rattling. The coil-overs allow you to drop the ride height to the weeds or up to near stock without rubbing of any sort.
I recently took the car on an 1100 miles trip with the family. We did the trip in 4 days and the car ran without issues. I even manage to get over 30mpg. Not too bad for a 12v VR.
I’m sure I missed some items and I will update should I remember.
I am the third owner.
The only reason I am selling is because my family and I have decided to make a permanent move and I need to sell off some non-essential items.
I paid up for the car when I bought it, and feel it is well worth the cost I am asking. If I cannot get what I am asking or near to it, I will hold onto it and try again. The values of MKIII VR’s like this gem are only going up.
I reserve the right to close auction/ad at any time without notice.
If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks or any negative feedback, you will need to contact me before bidding/offers or I may cancel your bid/offer.
I highly encourage any perspective buyer to come by and see my VR in person and go for a spin.
Any questions, please ask.
Thanks for looking and good luck, you will not be disappointed!!!
