2011 Suzuki SX4 basehello - Up for auction, starting at .99 cents with no reserve is a Suzuki SX4 Crossover Base model. It has front wheel drive or selectable AWD (all wheel drive mode). It is manual with 6 speeds. I am the original owner and the car has not given me any issues for almost 112,000 miles. The reason for selling is that Friday July 12th when driving with the defrost on, all of a sudden the windows immediately fogged up really bad. Basically the AC just did not work. No cold air. I smelled a sweet antifreeze smell thru the vents. I took the car home and noticed the passenger side floor mat was a little damp. It smelled like antifreeze. It has been parked since. My mechanic says its the heater core. Its aprox a $40.00 part but the issue is the labor. Its like a little radiator in the cabin of the car that takes some coolant from the cooling system in the engine bay and uses it for the AC and heating system in the cabin. So the AC and heat do not work, and if you use either it starts to leak coolant into the car thru the busted heater core. The car does not currently over heat but it will if the heater core is not fixed or bypassed sooner rather than later. My mechanic tells me the AC refrigerant will have to be removed and then the steering column dropped in order to remove the complete dash assembly to access the heater core up against the firewall (the sheet metal wall that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment) of the car. Then its all reassembled and the AC system charged with refrigerant again. I have been getting quotes between $700 to $1500 for the labor alone (Ramirez on 17 in moncks corner quoted me $700 labor plus parts).
I used this car to go mountain biking and snowboarding. I have snow tires currently on it. It was a beast in the snow with the awd and snow tires, just awesome. I have too many vehicles as it is, however, so i have decided not to continue with the repairs. So here it is for auction. ** mechanic special ** Needs work but i think it could be a cheap and reliable car to someone willing to put the work in.
The brake rotors and pads, both front and back, need replacement and included with the auction is a front and rear set of new rotors and pads. The battery is the original OEM AGM battery, it still refuses to die. However a brand new Die Hard AGM battery is included with the auction. The cars battery terminals are completely corroded and will need new battery terminals maybe even the wires, but it still starts as is.
When passing a dump truck I got a crack on the passenger side windshield and maybe 2 quarter sized dimples on the passenger side rear pillar/quarter panel area from debris coming off the dump truck. Other then that the body of the car is normal wear and tear and has never been in an accident. Definitely needs a wash - super dirty.
The suspension is megan racing coil overs. Part numberMR-CDK-SSX4. You can adjust the height and the damper force. The spring rates are very aggressive and although it makes the car handle like a go cart and turn on rails it is very stiff and uncomfortable for daily driving. Just want to be honest - people who lower their cars or use coil overs know what i mean - i never cared - it did not bother me. I did enjoy driving in the twisty mountain rode tho :)
There is aftermarket speakers, subwoofer and amp installed. The headlights have been retrofitted with HID projectors (used to be halogen). They are beginning to vibrate. They will need to be tightened down again or some people use JB weld so the hardware doesn't loosen ever again. its lightly tinted all around but in some areas the tint is starting to bubble.
Thank you for your time and looking at my auction. any questions please ask. Happy bidding!!
