1974 MGB. This is the last MGB model that has the metal bumpers. This car belongs to a friend who bought it in the early 80s.

He drove it and kept it well maintained for many years. He had the exterior restored in 2004 in the original color. About the same

time,he had the engine overhauled and put new tires on it. The engine & tires have less than 1,000 miles on them.

After that, it sat for quitea while in his driveway under a tarp with the top down. Water got in the floor and eventually created some

rust through in the floor panson both sides. His health won’t allow him to drive it again so I did a lot of work on it to prepare

it to sell. The exterior body panels look good, but there is some peeling clear coat and a couple small rust throughs & rust

bubbles low on the driver’s side, (see picts). The vinyl convertible top will need to be replaced, as it won’t completely

close and has a couple small holes on the right side. The top mechanism was replaced a few years ago and it seems ok.

The engine has good compression (155 psi in #1, 145 in 2, & 150 in 3, & 4).

It cranks easily, shifts well and the steering is tight. The suspension feels good. The shocks are a little soft.

I have driven it 4-5 miles and itdrives good. The engine runs a little rough. It has an aftermarket CDI ignition with a

strong blue spark. Tires look like new.The radio is missing, the gas gauge is broken and the tachometer does

not work (cable probably).

Here is a list of what I’ve done to it in the last three months:
Purchased & installed a new battery, new front rotors and pads, rear brake shoes and cylinders and the drums were turned.

I Flushed brake and clutch fluid & replaced . Disassembled carbs and cleaned and installed new carb kits in them.

(The carbs haven’tbeen synchronized to each other). I have cleaned everything up inside and out and changed the oil,

filter and antifreeze. Ihave purchased new floor pans and seat slide assemblies for both sides, but haven’t installed them.

They will go with the car.The seats were recovered a few years ago and are in very good shape with a small nick on

the top of the driver’s head rest.

Odometer shows 6554 miles. I assume it is 106554 but I can't verify.

Winning bidder will alsoreceiveowner's library of MG books and repair manuals worth hundreds of dollars, plus the original

owner's manual.(See video link abovefor manuals.)

If I were going to keep it I would do some basic body work and repaint it, install the floor pans which I’ve already bought,

get carbs workingtogether, replace water pump which has small leak at weep hole, replace top and carpet and just

do a general go over to make sure everythingis working properly.

I have spent $995.00 on parts on this car plus tons of labor.I’m starting the bidding very low at $895.00 with no reserve.

That’s well below it’s value. This vehicle will make someone a great project that shouldn’t cost a lot to restore.

Winning bidder is responsible for local pick up (at Newnan, GA) or shipping. I will assist in any way I can if you want it shipped,

but you will need to make the shipping arrangements.
