2001 Pontiac Firebird WS6

Sunset Orange, 6-Speed Manual, WS6 Package, Ram Air, LS1. Only 187 Trans Am's were produced with this combination in 2001. This 2001 Pontiac Trans Am is a blast to drive and is truly unique. It has 157,700miles but has been very well taken care of. However, it is not without its flaws as listed below:
  • Clear coat on the trunk is starting to peel
  • Trunk also has some paint chipping off and a few scratches
  • Some tiny chips and scratches in the paint on the front
  • The front left speaker sometimes goes out for a second or two
  • The small, plastic frame for the shifter boot is broken
  • The drivers seat has a small tear
  • The WS6 badge fell off, I have it but it needs to be reglued
  • Half of the rear window defroster does not work
  • The exhaust (Flowmaster) needs different tips
  • The check engine light is on due to a previous owner removing the catalytic converters
Minor issues overall. I've never had any major issues during the 6 years that I have owned this TA. This thing is solid, but here's a list of repairs done in the last 25,000 miles (besides oil and oil filter changes every 3,000 to 4,000 mi):
  • Replaced alternator and belt (129k mi)
  • Replaced left sail panel speaker (133k mi)
  • Replaced power steering pump and flushed coolant system(139k mi)
  • Replaced stripped out right front headlight motor gear with aluminum gear (140k mi)
The previous owner of this car was actually my brother, an ASE certified mechanic who also never had any major problems. Here's most of the repairs/maintenance (besides routine oil changes) he did on this TA:
  • Replaced water pump, thermostat, flushed cooling system
  • Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter
  • Changed transmission fluid, rear differential fluid
  • Replaced exhaust manifold to converter gaskets
  • Replaced left front headlight gear
  • New tires @ 121,850 mi and replaced both front outer tie rod ends, front end alignment
  • Replaced front rotors, turned rear rotors
  • Cleaned throttle body and IAC valve
  • Replaced right sail panel speaker
Again, mainly routine maintenance. The engine is strong, no ticks, whines or squeaks. If I had to drive this TA cross-country I would do it in a heart beat and I wouldn't mind the 22-23 mpg it gets on the interstate. The only reason I am selling this car is because it is not exactly family friendly (you can get a car seat in the back but it's kind of awkward). My family is growing and it's time for someone else to enjoy this Trans Am.
