2003 Mini Cooper

5 Speed Manual Base Model Mini Cooper 2003.
Good: Car is in good shape for its age and miles! Engine is strong, been on time every time with oil changes using Royal Purple and OEM or Mann Filters. Last 37k was put on by me, all highway as my daily driver to work over 100 miles a day, 5 days a week. It's been extremely reliable!Heated seats, air conditioning, power window*, power locks, new keyfob, tires are good, clean cut car with only a couple dents, newer front windshield*, good brakes, newer clutch*. Has a Sony Bluetooth stereo in it with CD player. New control arm bushings (lower), one boot thing, it had the power steering recall done, new windshield wiper motor. Has the front flood lights and they are BRIGHT. Has fog lights as well that work.
No Check Engine Lights, No tire lights, no airbag lights, passed IL emissions in August, it's all good there!
The Bad: Throwout bearing is making a noise. It's still driveable-- but if you wreck that bearing you will wreck the newer clutch assembly. I cannot say why the bearing failed, it's possible that I just got unlucky with a bad part or I just am not as good at manuals as I'd hoped. Going with the "I'm an idiot girl" excuse on this one. Otherwise the not-so-bad is the passenger window doesn't roll down (bought it this way and didn't have time to fix it), the cigarette lighter doesn't work (wire came loose?), and the newer safelight windshield has some minor chips. Turn signal switch also is touchy and will turn the brights on (common issue). It has a couple dings here and there from previous owners. It is also a REBUILT title from previous owner. I had -zero- issues titling it in my name in IL, check to make sure your state is good on that please.
I love this car. Only reason I am selling is because when I heard that noise, I parked it immediately and used my backup car. I do not have the funds or time to fix it, or I absolutely would. I've been told by all the mechanics its been to how well it drives! It's so much fun, safe, and surprisingly quick for being a little 4 banger. It is a GREAT first car or MPG-saver for those of us who commute. For those questioning its size, it's very roomy! I have brought home a dishwasher, deep freeze, and 75 gallon fish tank in this little guy! People are always surprised by it.
Transportation is on you. If you choose to drive it to take it home, know it is sold as-is and I cannot be responsible if the bearing breaks during your drive. I highly recommend a tow.
Title in hand. Will consider all trades if you contact me! Will consider all offers. This is a very solid car, just needs that bearing to be on the road.
