2008 Ford F-350 XLT2008 Ford XLT Extended Cab 4x4 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel with a 6-speed manual and only 131,000 miles!
Very Nice truck! This has been my reliable, do-anything truck and friend. I have treated her well, and she has returned the favor. A bit about the truck...
Mechanically the truck is very good. Heat is hot, AC blows cold, power windows and locks all work good. The truck rides nicely for a one-ton, better than most new ones I've driven. I installed all-new extreme-duty brakes on the front, including calipers, rotors and pads, less than 1,000 miles ago. I had one of the front wheel bearings replaced professionally this past August. The front end is nice and tight. I also just put on complete new high-end extreme-duty brakes on the rear, including pads, rotors and calipers. The truck stops like a dream. I also repacked the rear wheel bearings and replaced the rear axle seals. All four rear tires are like new. Front tires have about 40% tread with some checking on the sidewalls.
I have also put two new batteries in the truck this year and a new fuel rail pressure sensor. Four wheel drive works well - both low and high range - with a handy switch on the dash. The transmission shifts well with plenty of clutch travel - it is a heavy duty clutch, not a flick-of-the-wrist sports car clutch, but I really like the extra control, power and uniqueness that come with having the 6-speed manual transmission. The manual transmissions are also bullet-proof! Engine is strong and starts reliably, even in cold weather. Torque is enough to pull down a house (truck actually pulled down a house!). Comes with the factory engine heater option for starting below 20F. Also comes with an aftermarket Edge Tuner, which is a nice add-on to view engine performance and adjust settings for efficiency or towing. I have always left it in stock mode (will provide manual). Truck will occasionally throw an error code for fuel rail pressure, only when started hot. This has not gotten better or worse as long as I've owned it. Have talked to a mechanic who suggested it may need the computer reflashed to correct a factory bulletin about this issue, or worst case, a new fuel pump. Does not affect performance for how I use the truck and I just clear the code with the tuner when it happens. In terms of general service, oil and fuel filters were changed about 1,000 miles ago. Coolant system was flushed about 6 months ago. The brake system was just flushed. The aftermarket air-filter was changed about 6 months ago. So, a lot of timely service to take good care of a great truck!
The 6.4L Powerstroke is a hard engine to beat, strong and breathes well with the upgraded S&B air filter. The twin turbos add a lot of pep as well. Plus it's the last engine before all the government extras were mandated forcing you to put DEF fluid in your truck. This truck has not been tuned up to be a race truck hot rod, its just a good-running reliable F350.
Cosmetically, the truck looks sharp! Its obvious at first glance that it hasn't been used and abused. The truck originally lived in VT (a no-salt state), and I drive it sparingly in the winter. As a result the body is in great shape for a 2008. Original hunter green paint still shines nice. I do not smoke, nor do I put pets inside my truck. Interior has all new front and back Ford factory rubber floor mats. There is minor wear/staining on some seat (cloth) surfaces and some scrapes on the plastic front face of the glove box (see photo). There is also a penetration in the dash center console that a previous owner made (see photo). Factory CD player, speakers, and electronics work like new. All lights work. The exterior is good, with a few minor dings in the body.
Truck has an aftermarket 9' long Knapheide bed. These are the Cadillac of truck beds - solid steel, with super back lighting, rear-window protection, stake pockets and tie-downs along the length of the bed. A Knapheide bed runs over 8 grand alone. The bed has some surface rust only. I had expensive custom one-of-a-kind solid white oak stake-sides made just for this truck. It took a lot of time to get the bed proportions just right to the truck. Sides fit tightly (can haul sand or gravel without losing a pebble) and all fasteners are stainless steel. The white oak was finished with a pale green transparent stain. The bed is currently fixed to the body, but could be converted to a dump bed if a ram and pivot were added.
Truck is set up very nicely for hauling. There is a fifth-wheel below the floor of the bed that is in perfect shape. There is also a beefy rear frame-mounted tow bracket and electrical connections. There are in-dash factory controls for trailer brakes, and four factory-installed auxiliary wiring ports for feeding and controlling any extra electrical goodies (e.g. a winch). The mirrors are both trailer mirrors that extend out for better rear visibility when towing.
Truck is owned free and clear with a clean title. I'm not a dealer so the price you pay is the price you see.
If you have questions, please call me at 607....342....0128, or use the eBay ask-a-question feature. I am willing to pick up a buyer from either the Syracuse NY or Ithaca NY airport at no cost (or drive the truck to the airport for you). If you would like to see and drive the truck, please make arrangements before bidding. I have made every attempt to be honest with the condition of the truck. I am expecting the buyer to be honest with payment and pickup of the truck in a timely fashion.
I'm only selling my truck because I need to pay down some debt with starting a business. Frankly, I really rather not sell it after all the work I've put in to make this my forever truck. Fairly priced and a good opportunity for someone to get a great cared-for and do-anything Ford F350! Thank you.
