1932 Ford HiBoy Roadster Magazine Car
Hello Ford Roadster Fans,
This is a Beautiful 1932 Ford Hiboy Roadster build by 2 Legends. Car is registered in California as a 1932 Ford roadster. The frame and front radiator shell are original. It was built in the late seventies by AlEbberothand DickStritchfieldatStritchfield’sshop in Los Angeles Ca.DickStritchfieldfounded the LARoadster club, one of the largest hot rod organizations in the U.S.
The caris powered by a 327 Chevy SBC with aKenne-Bell 350 transmission. The rear endsuspended with triangulated four-bars witha57 Pontiachousingwith positraction and a 4:11 ratio.
The body and front end were purchased from Pete and JakesfirstTemple City shop (no longer existing). Thebody is #16 fromWescott, one of the first to be sold in the LA area. P&J only got three on the first shipment and the two with trunks sold first. This body has the rumble seat lid and is fully finished inside.Ebberothbuilt the aluminum hood and trick locking mechanism.
The brakes are mustang disks that are ground smooth and painted to match the car and frame. The steering and column is from a Mustang as well. The deep green paint is an 80’s Chrysler color. Believe it or not this paint is 40 years old!!! This has been well cared for over the past 40 years and it shows. There are only 22,375 miles on this car since it was built.
Upholstery was done by LannyBoeltlin Whittier a rather famous name at the time.
Current wheels are Eric Vaugh “Real Wheelsâ€. These are aluminum cast in Halibrand’s original molds byVaugn.
The car has been garaged through the last 3 owners. It was built to drive and she is dependable. This Ford just went on a Saturday car run one 150 miles with no problems.
It was a cover feature in Rod Action Magazine, in May of 1981. In my opinion the new owner will be very happy with this car and all the history behind it.
This 1932 Ford is being sold as is where is with No Warranty expressed written or implied.
