1998 Ford Ranger XLTI am selling my 1998 Ford Ranger XLT (2.5L, 5 speed manual) with 155k miles. I have the clean AZ title in hand. I've owned this truck for the last two years and it's been an excellent little truck. When properly maintained, the 2.5L Lima engines are known for going forever, especially when paired with the manual transmission.
This truck is in great shape - it's very clean, with normal wear. There's no body damage on the truck with the exception of a few pesky door dings. Working A/C, no mechanical issues or leaks, and it's up to date on emissions. This truck has been extremely reliable as my daily driver for the last few years.
There is an aftermarket alarm and immobilizer installed on the truck to make sure the truck cannot be started without the key.
I've done regular oil changes and replaced filters that go along with it. I have maintenance records for everything that's been done to the truck while under my ownership within the last two years, including new parts installed to make sure it'll run great for many years:
New front brake pads, calipers, and rotors.
New transmission fluid
New throttle position sensor
New catalytic converter
New clutch, slave cylinder, release bearing, pressure plate, and clutch fluid
New spark plugs
New PCV valve
New IAC valve
New intake manifold gasket
New upstream oxygen sensor
As for the negatives: There are a few spots that the paint has chipped off a bit (roof, corner of the hood), the windshield has a crack in the corner, and the rear bumper is bent on the driver's side.
This would make a great and reliable daily driver, work truck, or even first car if you're interested in the joy of driving a manual transmission.
