1998 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Silverado

1998 Chevrolet Silverado (K1500) 4x4 with 5-Speed Transmission
You are looking at a very nice 1998 Chevrolet Silverado truck with 230,000 miles. This truck is well equipped with four wheel drive, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, air conditioning, and a 5-speed transmission. It is pretty hard to find a 20 year old truck in good shape. I bought this truck for my son who is in the U.S. Navy, and he decided he wanted my Chevrolet Tahoe. I like the truck, but already have a 1999 Dodge Sport, and do not need two pickups. My loss is your gain.
I have driven the truck about 600+ miles without any issues. I took it to Mighty Muffler and Brakes in Knoxville, and they recommended replacing the catalytic converters, and muffler. They put on two catalytic converters and a muffler that has just a little rumble to it. It is not loud and sounds really good. Might Muffler welds all of the connecting pipes, and it looks just like it came from the factory. I had the air filter, and spark plugs replaced with new plug wires. The brakes did not require any service. The truck starts right up and does not smoke. There are no warning lights.
This truck came from southern Virginia and has a current vehicle inspection sticker. I started to remove the sticker, but thought if someone from Virginia wins the truck that they would not need to have it inspected until next year. Virginia is pretty stringent on their vehicle inspections, and if a vehicle passes their inspection you can pretty well count that there are no issues.
The truck is very presentable, but has a few cosmetic issues. The first issue is on the passenger side door. The window shade is broken, and needs to be removed or replaced. These costs about $25.00/pair on Ebay. If the winning bidder wants I can have the shade replaced. I personally would just remove it, and the driver's side shade. The Z-71 decals on the bed need to be replaced. I have ordered a set that will go with the truck. The rear fenders have had some touch up work done due to some surface rust. The body work is good, but they did not do a Very good job blending it in. The cab corners appear to be in good shape.
The interior of the truck is in good shape for a 1998 truck with minor wear. It could use a good shampooing. The steering wheel has a cover over it, and the original leather is worn. I have a good used steering wheel that I ordered off of Ebay that will go with the truck. The original stereo has been replaced with a newer unit that looks to be from Walmart. It says it is made by Dual. It sounds good and has a CD player, Aux Input, and is Blue Tooth. I do not know much about the aftermarket brands, but it seems to work well. You can even pair your smart phone to work through the system.
The truck has 17" GMC wheels that look really nice. The tires have probably 30% wear left. I have a set of 16" wheels that I would sell if the winning bidder would prefer to have the 16" wheels.
The rear bumper was originally chrome, and has been covered with a black textured coating. It shows signs of rust where the covering was added. The top of the bed has also been covered with a textured coating. It does not appear that this was due to rust. It looks very nice, and looks like it was professionallyinstalled. There is a plastic bed liner insert that has a 5th wheel hitch. It does not appear that the 5th wheel has ever been used.
The previous owner claims that the engine was replaced at 135,000 miles. I do not have any paperwork for the engine replacement, but the truck runs very strong. There are no weird noises, and the Air Conditioning and Heat work well. The Air Conditioning will freeze you out.
I have only had the truck a short amount of time, but it seems to run and drive well. I have had a lot of compliments on its appearance, and sound. The truck does need to be detailed.
I appreciate you looking at my truck. I am not looking for any trades, and I do not need any help selling the truck. Please take a look at my Ebay feedback score. I have been doing business on Ebay for a long time, and have a 100% feedback score with over 700 transactions. I feel that it is best to be upfront about anything that I am selling on Ebay. If you have any questions please use the "Ask Seller Question" feature, and I will try to answer your question within 12 hours. I work in a prison and we do not take our phones behind the wall for security reasons.
I am listing this truck with a Buy-it-Now or Best Offer.
