Note If you don't have the funds or permission from your spouse, do not bid - Unpaid items are not good for anyone.(i.e. douglasp1953 and bogart0711, growsomeanddo not bid again!)

We built this car because it attracts so much positive attention and compliments. Driving it is exhilarating and puts a smile on everyone's face...especially the driver's!

My wife works along side our son and me but she does not fully share the same enthusiasm for building 70 or earlier iconic muscle cars and trucks (lots of expensive parts, cursing, and busted knuckles in our shop) but, whenever we are on the road she points out every single vintage Corvette she sees with excitement. Simply put, these cars arethe most recognizable vehicles with the highest following of the muscle car era....period.

This car will bring back memories, make you feel young, and draw attention every time to take it for an exhilarating spin.

This car has over $30K in parts alone.

Labor has been completed by an experienced mechanical engineer and professional paint and body man.

In short, it is not possible to build a more beautiful or powerful C3 from this desirable year for under $50K.

Overall Details:

This Corvette Stingray sits on a new set of Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T Radials but that is just where this beautiful and powerful car meets the ground.

This car started asa damage free 1970 4-speed Stingray with only 56K miles from the dry southwest (New Mexico).

The body was stripped and refinished by a retired professional paint and body man for his own personal collection. When personal reasons drove him to sell, we took one look and fell in love so we purchased the car and finished the mechanicals to compliment the beautiful project he had painstakingly started.

The engine was replaced with a very powerful and lopey 427, the interior was replaced with original or new restoration parts, and finally the entire drivetrain and suspension were reassembled with new or rebuilt parts where necessary.

Body:

The original blue finish was completely strippedafter the car was completely disassembled and was refinished in Marina Blue Metallic to show off the iconic and sensual Stingray lines.

All new emblems.

All new weatherstripping.

Converted to more desirable 1973 L88 hood for additional hood clearance and breathtaking lines. We also completed a full strip and refinish of an original 1973 low profile hood including new insulation and clips that we can include with the sale if buyer arranges shipping. Simply swap in a low profile intake to make this an incredible sleeper...no one will know what lurks under the hood until you launch it.

This car is very straight with excellent gaps throughout and has no overspray and looks incredible all the way down to the door jambs. The beautiful metallic shine glistens and dances in the sun.

Interior:

New oil pressure, amp, fuel, and temperature gauges.

New quartz clock movement.

New carpet.

New pedals.

New rear package storage trays.

New door panels.

New crank handles and lock knobs.

New rear view mirror and chrome mount.

New Retro AutoSound stereo system with aux jack and multiple expansion options.

New speakers in dash and AutoSound speakers in back.

New retractable seat belts.

Original leather seats are soft in nearly flawless condition with no tears, creases, seam issues, etc.

Engine:

Started as a 1969 427 but has been completely rebuilt with reliable go-fast goodies including...

New Edelbrock "Thumper" Hydraulic Cam..sounds nasty at idle and packs a punch.

New Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake manifold.

New Edelbrock Carburetor with electric choke for easy starts and drivability...one touch of the starter brings the big block to life with a rumble.

New modern HEI ignition with correct gear driven tachometer.

New single wire 110 amp alternator.

New DeWitts dual spal fan big block 3 core aluminum radiator module...this car has never seen any temperature above 210 even in the NM desert.

All new ancillary parts including water pump, pulleys, balancer, valve covers, fuel pump, starter, oil pump, sensors, voltage regulator, etc. to ensure reliability.

New exhaust manifolds feed a completely new exhaust system from the engine to the chrome outlets including all clamps, supports, and trim and sounds incredible.

Entire assembly from the fuel tank to the exhaust tips is completely compatible with lead-free fuel and ethanol enhanced fuels.

Stock engine would have created 390 HP but we estimate this engine to push out approximately 450HP even at the mile-high altitude where it now resides and it sounds INCREDIBLE with a very healthy lope at idle! HOLD ON and feather the pedal to keep traction at most any speed!

Transmission:

Original 4 Speed Muncie was completely rebuilt including all new synchros, springs, etc.

Rebuilt linkages…even replaced back-up switch with brand new part.

New Ceramic racing clutch complete with new flywheel, new throwout bearing, new pilot bearing and rebuilt linkages.

Transmission provides positive shifts that are firm and tight without excessive pedal pressure.

Rear-end:

Entire rear suspension was replaced with all new components to handle the high horsepower big block starting with the rebuilt positrac 4.10 differential filled with synthetic fluid. New leaf springs and completely rebuilt and balanced driveshafts with new greasable u-joints. All new polyurethane bushings, drag links, etc.

Rear end is completely adjustable and incredibly reliable.

Brakes:

4-wheel 4-piston disc brakes! Completely replaced braking system including master cylinder, calipers, pads, rotors, hoses, clamps and fittings on all 4 wheels.

This car stops straight and the brake pedal is firm without excessive foot pressure and no brake fade stop after stop.

Wheels/Tires:

New chrome 15x10 rally wheels with new derby caps.

New P255/60R15 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires.

These higher speed rated tires have much better grip than the BF Goodrich rubber most people run and they look fat and awesome on all four corners.

Other:

New Optima Gel Battery.

New turn signal, parking, brake, and back-up lenses.

New bulbs throughout.

New lock cylinders and keys.

New headlight switch.

New wiper switch.

New shocks on all 4 corners.

Frustrating and error prone vacuum operated systems under hood were eliminated by replacing the wiper door with a longer 73 L88 hood and converting the headlight system to electric motors. The wiper motor and washer system were replaced with new at the same time…very nice and work flawlessly!

New heater core.

New fuel tank and sending unit.

All new fuel lines compatible with ethanol fuel.

New belt and hoses.

Even has a new fuel cap.

Some odds and ends:

This car does not leave a drop of oil and is exhilarating to drive.

Spare tire carrier is in good condition and is included but not installed. It is best to leave this part off to reduce risk of damage with the super low clearance of these cars.

Odometer just stopped working when we reset the trip odometer.

New front a-arm polyurethane bushings are included but have not been replaced because the front end is tight and appears to have been rebuilt.

Fiber optic lenses in center console are new but fiber needs replacement. All parts for conversion to LED included.
