1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce Quadrifoglio
This car [Alfa Romeo Spider] was made famous by Dustin Hoffman’s break out role movie, The Graduate. That’s when America fell in love with this roadster.
This Spider is rare as there were only 2600 Spiders made in 1987. It’s specially rare in this trim level, Quadrifoglio, which came with a removable hardtop. This Italian convertible is equipped with the original fuel injected 2.0L in-line four cylinder motor. The frame and body is California car and completely rust free. It has appeared on Motortrend’s Wheeler Dealer TV show where it got a rebuilt prop shaft and rear differential. Also replaced the AC unit and got new window motors, new soft top, red wrinkle painted valve cover, new catalytic converter and exhaust. After the show, the car received more updates: optional OEM oil pan grill, new engine and transmission mounts, exhaust heat shield, new clutch master and slave cylinder, new speedo cable, new tires, and new battery. Also steamed cleaner the interior and changed the oil filter and oil to full synthetic Mobil 1. The car passes smog no problem.
Always garaged, but when out on the town, the Spider is a definite head turner and show stopper. It's the best entry level Italy car to own. Parts are relatively inexpensive. It has a classic look without hanving to deal with classic car issues.
